Portland

10/5

OK, trip is done, just got to figure out where to store the boat, winterize it and fly home to see my honey.

And the boat will stay in this marina for the winter. Its competitive with anything I've seen online and I can stay on the docks for free until it goes on to the hard. Some freinds from Dallas, EW and Jennifer, are passing through Portland on their way to Acadia State Park. They are going to join me on the boat. Wow! Guests!

Portland has chandleries (boat stores) here so I Ubered to Hamilton Marine and picked up all the bits and pieces I've been looking for. Got my left hand threaded nuts, got paint to deal with rust and lots of other things for I've been missing. Met EW and Jennifer at a restaraunt on the dock front. We ate and had drinks then headed to the Marina for the evening.

Next day we went for a sail in the sound, depth sounder display not working again. Sheesh! I need to get that fixed or replaced. We get back and EW and Jennifer pack up and head for Arcadia. Their suburban is packed with stff, they have their bikes and kayaks, but make room to drop me off at a food store. That was a nice  break having them, good to have people to talk to :)

Next 2 days are rainy, rainy days, I get the boat ready to haul, and plan flights. Didn't get an email confirming my return flight so I called. Just as well I checked, somehow, I'd booked from Portland, Oregon. Oh well, time to book again. No way to paint the boat in this weather, but I did tidy and got some serious Clash of Clans time in.

So the boat is now on the hard in the parking lot of the marina. Guess I need to get on and plan the next trip.
