This web page covers my third three month sailing trip. This one was Chesapeake City to Rio Dulce, Guatemala. We stopped in both Mexico and Belize and came awfully close to Cuba. There were several times where the boat sailed overnight, sometimes multiple nights, and one time where I didn't touch land for a week.
I left home on the 29th of April and returned 9th July 2018. The boat started on the hard and has finished on the hard, just 1800 miles or so from where it started. The crew thatjoined me were, Dennis Starkey, Dave Rothgeb, and Patrick Ross. All three were good enough sports to put up with me and it was always a sad time when they had to leave. Each one made major contributions to the enjoyment of making this trip.
Last year I sailed the boat from Portland, Maine to Chesapeake City, Virginia. I haven't written about it or put anything on this website about it ... yet. But, it happened, and I don't like not having a sailing log for that trip so stay tuned.
A few things have changed from last year, but the big one is that Trude has changed her name. She is now an American documented vessel (finally) and with that came a name change, she is now "Brown Eyed Girl", named after my wife Hiam.
